Love to Your Body

Your body is with you forever; it's your ultimate BFF - Body Friend Forever. Treat your body like you would your best friend.

When anxiety and depression hit, sometimes it feels like being physically punched. You can often feel it in your body. That's why our body needs comfort, reassurance and love to help it to heal, just like we do.

Depression and anxiety can also disconnect us from our body. Giving love to our body helps to reconnect and to build a strong, attentive relationship with it.

When to Give Love to Your Body

In the moments when you feel most disconnected from your body, it might be hard to give it love. So, if you feel up to it, try giving love to your body right after those difficult moments.

Otherwise, it's helpful to do it once a day or once a week. The more love you give to your body, the stronger your connection and relationship with it will be.

How to Give Love to Your Body

In all the examples below, use whatever words work best for you.
1. Tell your body you love it:
 "I love you, my body."

2. Tell your body you're grateful for everything it does for you:
"I'm so grateful, my body, for all the work you do for me every second of every day. Thank you so much."

3. Acknowledge any pains your body has or any situations it might have experienced:
"I know that was really hard for you. I'm sorry you went through that."

"I'm sorry you hurt, my knee. I wish you were better. I love you and I'm grateful for everything you do for me."

4. Rub, massage or just place your hand where your body hurts.

5. Send breath into your body where it hurts. If you like, send an intention with your breath, such as "Love" or "Healing.
I can't believe I'm talking to my body cartoon
